A short negotiation guide for Change Markers based on Harvard Methodology
Why knowing how to negotiate is key for changemakers?
Negotiation happens every day, both at personal and professional level and whether you’re aware of it or not, you spend a significant part of your day negotiating.
Knowing how to negotiate is key if you want to promote positive change and have impact in your company (as an intrapreneur) or a social entrepreneur, or as citizen in your everyday life. Also, studies show that having good negotiation skills plays an important role in your success and happiness.
What will you find here?
In this free document, you will find a guide with tips on how to prepare and conduct win-win negotiations. I prepared it for a course provided to top level Changemakers, mainly Managers and Board Members of Microfinance Institutions and Social Entreprises and it is based on the Methodology established by Harvard professors Fisher, Ury and Patto.
I learned the methodology at Harvard more than 15 years ago. Since then I have been teaching negotiation skills to managers, board members and social entrepreneurs. During the last 5 years I am Associate Professor at IE Centre of Negotiation and Mediation.
I have adapted the methodology to the needs of change management and social impact situations.
