For the launch of the UN’s new campaign HeForShe, a movement dedicated to putting an end to gender inequality, this weekend Emma Watson delivered an empowering speech on feminism to a standing ovation. The first campaign of its kind at the UN, HeForShe will, according to Emma, “try and galvanise as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for change”.
Watson was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women just six months ago, and recently returned from Uruguay on her first mission for the organisation. During the 12-minute long message, Watson recalled when she first made the to her “uncomplicated” decision that she was a feminist.
